The yellow neckerchief for campers pictured for 1975 was used in 1974 as well. That was my first experience camping at EB. Troop 207 from Port Hueneme (Ventura County Council), CA, made the trip out and stayed in the Malibu camp site.

Wish I could join you for this wonderful 100th anniversary celebration, but I wish you all well. What is interesting to me is the realization that my experience on staff at Emerald Bay in 1956-58 continues to serve as a reminder that certain life experiences have had enormous impact on our growth and development. It has been more than 60 years since I wore the staff neckerchief…actually, I think I still have some of that stuff.

I did return for a visit in 1991 and took a couple of practice shots on the archery range where I served as director in 1956 or 57. I also visited the handicraft lodge where I served as Pop Pudney’s successor — what am I talkiing about? No one could replace Pop!

I wish you all well, with special appreciation for those taking the time to plan this reunion.

    Peter
